Originally conceived as an interlude, "Quicksand" has evolved into the first single taken off Oberst & Buchner’s upcoming second album "Marble Arch". Without any drum beat at all, the song leaves Mimu's crystal clear voice space to breathe, conjuring up a beautiful symbiosis between her soft vocals and bright, lucid synths. A dance of molecules on a surface heated by the sun, evoking both cold shivers and warm goosebumps.
Damon Jee & Darlyn Vlys transform the original cut into a dystopian dancefloor banger, complementing the intimate vocals with their signature marching drum arrangement. Unable to deny his roots in electro clash, Kalipo’s remix creates a mood between melancholia and optimism, with pads and arpeggios upon a powerful bassline carried by a solid drum foundation.
